nothin' new

for those of you that are wanting to know if anything has changed ... don't worry, nothing has! these days the only thing that is changing is the amount of time we have left here in Liverpool (32 days for those who are counting with me) -

we are still continuing to show the house, knowing full well that God is going to do His thing. What that is still remains to be seen, but in the meantime we just enjoy the journey.

not much to update ... still no actual offers have made it in. threats of an offer, but nothing in writing.

the past couple of days have been extremely trying for me. so much so, i actually got out of bed early and went for a walk this morning ... just me and God (and a couple of dogs that scared the poop out of me.) there is so much going on in my head right now, that i'm not able to complete a thought, forget about a sentence. stress levels are at an all time high in our house. the kids have got to feel it and that is one thing that i don't want to happen. so pray, please pray that our house sells soon. i know God knows what He is doing and i won't ever question that. He kept reminding me this morning as i was walking "trust in the Lord with ALL your heart and lean not on your own understanding. in ALL of your ways acknowledge Him and He will make your path straight." my prayer turned into ... God, You know i want 'this or that', but You know what i NEED.

quick update

well, lex finally made it back to school today after of week. she isn't completely well, but she was itching to get back, as was i ;)

i was glad to have her home yesterday, though. i got a call from our realtor and she needed to show the house within a half hour. here we go again ... this time less one kid (jax). let's just say that having mother's day off created more to do the next day - oh well, it really was all worth it. both doing nothing on mother's day and having this be a 'second' showing and finding out that our house is their 1st choice. yippee, right? it is a little more complicated than that, but i will not get into that now. we are just waiting to hear from them now. you'll know, when we know!

as for my mother's day! WONDERFUL! i really did nothing. after carlos got home from church, he took over. he is amazing! i was able to sit on the couch and watch an entire Met's game. that almost never happens. i even ate my lunch in front of the TV, a big no no. the kids were angels, mother's day should be every day!!

and yet there's more

my poor baby girl ... it is just one thing after another with her. she is just ending her bout with chicken pox and today she comes down with a 102.6 temp, the aches, and a severe soar throat. i diagnosed her with strep because the boys had it 2 weeks ago. i'm sure her immune system is low, so it just attacked her body. i thought i got rid of all those other germs ... (she is asking, that if you are reading this to, please, pray for her so she feels better and can get back to school because she missed so many days last week.)

today's been a relaxing day. not too many of those lately. i took an extended walk this morning - alone - what a peaceful time! it was beautiful out, perfect walking weather. and did i say peaceful? it gave me plenty of time to think and pray. i was reassured that God has this whole move under control and not to sweat the stuff that isn't taken care of yet (like- where are we going to live, where are the kids going to go to school, what about insurance, doctors, etc etc etc ...) but wow, inspite of all that (which most of you know how i LOVE all my ducks in a row), my head is still screwed on pretty straight and the peace i feel is without a doubt from Him because it certainly isn't my personality.

for those of you that don't see us too often, i figured i'd share some pic's once in awhile.

the kids

i just needed to take a second to tell you how amazing the kids were yesterday ... they were all home from school because of the pox, so the house was looking, well, not up to show mode. that's fine because we didn't have any showings ... BUT, as i was talking to my sister, my realtor (terry) called and i missed the call, so i proceeded to talk to anna probably for about another 50 minutes. well, come to find out terry wanted to show the house. YIKES!, she was going to be here in less than 15 minutes. i've never seen any of us move so fast. lexi was on floor duty, jackson was on pick up duty and tony on toy pick up. each kid went above what i asked and did whatever else they saw that needed to be done, without a complaint. we even had outside toys and bikes out ... wow, i still get excited when i think of how much we got done in soooo little time. hopefully, it was all worth it. they REALLY loved the house and it looks very promising.

and then ROUND 2! terry called again after dinner and wanted to show the house. this time we had 5 to 10 minutes tops, but now carlos was in on the fun. WHAT?!! - toys, bikes, and this time dishes had to be done. but we did it, made it out before she even got here. it is amazing what can get done with just a little bit of motivation.

the pox

to top everything else that is going on in the cueva household ... looks like we will be dealing with chicken pox, too. lexi now has them and we are just waiting for jackson and tony to start. not sure how the whole incubation thing works, but i hope we can get through this as quickly as possible. the good thing is that all the kids have been immunized, so the pox should be limited.

thank you to all that have commented and sent us emails in response to the blog. i guess this can actually work!
i wish i had some exciting news about the house, but i don't. 25 showings ... a few bites, but not a catch YET!! but again, i am uncharacteristically calm. the peace of God has come over me as i am reminded that He is in control, not me. it'll sell, and until then i get to enjoy a constantly clean house (and a few more gray hairs.)

i'm not good with titles

not sure how this blog will work for me (nic), but it'll be fun figuring it out. i already have the habit of repeating myself, so i apologize in advance to all of you that will hear stories over and over again.
life these days in the cueva home are quite hectic. keeping the house in 'show form' is difficult but doable. the kids have been excellent ... how would you like not being able to get your toys out (the ones that haven't already been packed) and if you do get them out, having to pick them up at the sound of a telephone ring? they have been tremendous, better than me, for sure. me, on the other hand, i'm one step from the deep, deep end. come on, who cleans their bathroom EVERY DAY?, ... (if you do, you're sick) ...
2 months and counting. our house has not sold yet, but to worry about things like that is a major waste of time. and i don't have time for that. i know God has got the perfect plan, and we are just waiting for it to unfold. today, though, we had a re-showing of the house - so many extra prayers have gone out that these people would pick ours over the other one they were interested in. we'll see ... stay tuned.
