back log #1
since life has, sort of, calmed down (not really sure you can call it that) ... maybe i should say we are starting to get into the school groove ... i figured i would start the first of many entries that i've been wanting to write about but just haven't had time.
i so miss everyone back home. words can not describe the range of emotions each one of us felt as we spent our final days living in NY. everyone there was incredible! the love and hospitality that was so very selflessly given to us, words could never justify.
i guess i will start with the day we packed the truck. what chaos that was. first of all, i can not believe how many people showed up to help. i knew we'd have help ... but my goodness, did you guys want us gone or what? - LOL!! the house was empty before i had time to pack the last box. the thing was, i thought i was all packed the evening before. but to my dismay, i wasn't. and i want to apologize to anyone that may have stood around waiting for me. i couldn't believe how quickly our stuff went from our home to the front lawn. wait a sec, did i mention how hot it was?
we purposely asked some engineers to help pack the truck so we could take up as little room as possible because we were paying for the truck by the foot. let me tell you, that truck was packed so tightly that all of our stuff moved as one piece. ok, if it was so hot outside, imagine how hot it was in the glorified tin can. don't ask me, ask the ones that were stuck inside playing "tetrus". and i apologize if i forget anyone .. but i believe they were - ADAM (aka s-bear), MICKI, and CHRIS. you guys sure know how to pack a truck.
how amazing is VICKI MACALUSO - can i get an AMEN!!? she cleaned the entire house. as the rooms became empty, she got right in there and cleaned it. something i didn't even think about doing. not to mention, for our last couple of nights in the house, she came over and put her sheets on all of our beds, let us use her towels and such, so i could wash and pack everything of ours. a very ingenious idea!
so, enjoy the slide show and look forward to more entries of old times.
