HEY, i just wanted to quickly let you all know that we are fine. so far no fires are real close to us. our air quality is poor and we can smell them. in school, the kids are staying in for recess and PE. carlos and i will not be running for a few days (maybe longer.)
now for the fun stuff ...
we are very excited that the bilingual service is starting this sunday! i will be part of carlos' worship team. the church doesn't have any auxiliary percussion so guess what we did yesterday ... we went out and got me some!! now that's exciting! i got a set of congas (black) and an auxiliary kit that includes a tambourine, triangle, an egg shaker, another shaker, and a cowbell. to that i already have a set of claves and a couple wood blocks. (can you tell i'm excited?) the cool thing is that they are ours. i will have to lug them to and from church each week, but at least i will be able to practice and play throughout the week. YEAH!!
some quick news about the kids ... lex and tony are 'citizen of the month' at school. they will be part of an assembly thursday morning and get their pic with the principle on the wall (in the office, i think.)
i've got to run and get tony to school.

Hi..so glad to hear you are safe . I have been worrying since the fires started. I also got an e mail from Sharon Helsens and daughter Liz (they used to go to LCC) they live in San Diego and they are safe too. Stay safe,
